Day of Mindfulness – 16th June 2024

    Escaping from the busy part of the city for this Sunday — we’re so happy to be able to spend a whole day together, like a mini wake up retreat!
    We will have all our usual practice elements, with some extras. Our walking meditation will go to the beautiful forest close by, we’ll share a mindful lunch, maybe have a deep relaxation, possibly add a guitar to the singing…
    We will also have an input from and a Q&A with a dharma teacher friend from the Source of Compassion Sangha 🙂

    The detailed schedule will manifest depending on the number of people joining, the weather forecast and of course the ideas and offerings of the whole Sangha. If you already know you have time and would like to support with facilitation, please reach out to Dylan so this can once again become a beautiful bouquet of different elements and voices 🌻🌺🌸🌼

    When?
    Sunday 16.6., ca. 8:45 am until ca. 5 pm
    If you go by S-Bahn, the suggestion is to take the connection that arrives at S Hermsdorf at 8:35 am to calmly arrive, get to know the space, settle in…we will start the grounding promptly at 9:00 am. We’ll end in a way so that people who need to leave can leave at 5 pm, but would appreciate help cleaning up from people who still have a bit of time after that.
    Please note that the S-Bahn only runs every 20 minutes on Sundays.

    Please take the chance to cultivate some morning calmness: Arrive in silence, have a look around, get a cup of tea and enjoy this shared practice of noble silence until after the grounding.

    The closest BVG options are S Hermsdorf (S1) and the bus station Drewitzer Straße (Bus 125 which goes from U6 station Alt-Tegel). Either station is about 5-10 min walking distance to the center. The door will be open, just come in. We’ll be on the ground floor (first door to the right when you enter the building).

    What to bring?
    Please bring some vegan* food to share for lunch. If you have food sensitivities or allergies (e.g. soy, nuts…) please let us know in advance so we can ask people to label their food accordingly.
    (*out of respect for mother earth and the customs of the community whose house we are allowed to use)

    Please also bring something to sit on – we might have dharma sharing outside if the weather is nice. We definitely plan to go into the forest close by for walking meditation, so depending on the forecast, maybe bring an umbrella and appropriate shoes…

    Most importantly, please trust that you can bring your whole self. All feelings and states of mind are welcome and as a group we can hold a lot of happiness and suffering and everything in between and beyond.

    This Day of Mindfulness involves some financial expenses (contribution to maintain the beautiful place we are allowed to use, small gift for our guest, flowers, tea etc.). In order to cover the costs of ~230 Euro for the whole day and to ensure that this event can continue to take place in the future, we ask you for a voluntary financial contribution “dāna”. For orientation, you can follow this sliding scale:
    ∘∘∘∘∘ sustainable standard contribution: 10-12€
    ∘∘∘∘∘ reduced solidarity contribution: 7-9€
    ∘∘∘∘∘ generous supporter contribution: 13-15€
    While being transparent about the conditions needed to make these events possible it is also very important to us that this day is accessible to everybody, regardless of financial means. So if you are unable to find an appropriate amount for yourself within the scale due to your circumstances, please be assured that any contribution is welcome.
    You can transfer your contribution to the online virtual dāna box in advance (please label it “dana DoM”) or leave it in our dāna box in cash on the day itself.
