The practice of Dana

Giving (dana) is an essential Buddhist practice. It is about generosity, openness, and our capacity to embrace others with compassion and love.

You are invited to practice generosity and to give to the sangha whenever you can. This can be in the form of donating time, donating money, volunteering to facilitate some elements of the practice evening, helping to organize sangha events or any other contributions.

We welcome donations to support our community to be able to continue beautifully and sustainably into the future.
Your donation is a contribution towards the ongoing cost of regular practice evenings and other events like Days of Mindfulness (rental, utilities, decoration, etc).
The suggested donation is 2-6€ per person per practice evening, depending on your means.
The Dana Box is located near the entrance of the practice center, or you can also use our online Dana box. 🙏🏼

If you are in a difficult situation, contribution in money is of course not a must.

Besides covering the regular cost, the Sangha’s donations also go to support society. Some of the examples where we have made contribution on behalf of the Sangha in the last years:

  • Support The Xingu Seeds Network (XSN), an NGO in Brazil working in collecting and commercializing different native seeds to reforest areas of the Amazon forest and Brazilian Cerrado. It is also committed to stimulating the autonomy of the people in the minor community and reserve traditional cultures
  • Support the forest conservation project in Germany with Wohllebens Waldakademie to help save old-growth forests, sponsoring protected area of 100m2 forest in the Eifel -a low mountain range in western Germany, for the next 50 years.

As Thay, our teacher has beautifully said:
It takes time to practice generosity, but being generous is the best use of our time.
Happy practice!
